Howdy gang!
It's been a while since I posted an update on here (a year!), so I figured I may as well update anyone who was curious:)
Since the series completed I've started moving on to other projects, while still hitting any shows I can. I had expected to do San Diego again this year, as well as Baltimore, Boston, Heroes, and more, but with the pandemic raging all of that's been cancelled. Hopefully I'll be able to do them all next year if things improve. My current plan is still to hit shows indefinitely with the series and try to slowly buy surely grow the audience:)
In the interim I'm still working on releasing my first novel, which at this point seems likely to be self-published. I sent the manuscript off to over 100 agents and have been rejected or ignored by all of them! But honestly, it's not a huge surprise. Most of the publishing industry seems to want boring and safe rather than wacky and creative, and this book is definitely not for everyone! As I like to describe it, it's "A comical and quirky love triangle between a masochist, a sadist, and a klutz". Odd, eh? But trust me, it's awesome:)
So that's in the works and will hopefully come out at some point before the end of the year.
Otherwise I'm working on some other projects that are still in the writing stages and will battle each other for time and attention as things progress, but the goal is, eventually, to continue to create new work, both comics and novels. It's just gonna take time.
I'm also hoping to transition to a new website at some point that will act as more of an umbrella for different projects instead of relying on farlaine.com for everything.
Since I haven't done a ton of new Farlaine art in a while, I'll leave you with this fun gem, done for a friend who collects mock covers from an old book called Sugar and Spike.
Hope everyone's staying safe!
